Reporting to the Supervisor, Loadout, the Technician, Loadout - Temporary will be a self-motivated individual who can work effectively under pressure while maintaining a strong focus on safe operations. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, including reading, writing, and verbal abilities, which allow them to convey information clearly and collaborate efficiently with colleagues and stakeholders. In addition, possessing an in-depth knowledge of operational processes across all loading areas enables you to ensure compliance, optimize workflows, and support the efficient, safe movement of materials.
This position is a 12-month temporary employment opportunity with a possibility of extension, located at Nutrien's
Redwater, Alberta
Nitrogen site (approximately 40 km from Northeast Edmonton).
What You'll Do:
Primarily responsible for safe loading of assigned areas by following standard procedures
Follow all Nutrien safe work policies and procedures
Participate in safety program by reporting incidents and taking ownership of submitted work orders
Complete preventative maintenance on operating equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits
Follow progression system and complete within prescribed timeframe
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs/railcars regularly
Work outside in all weather conditions (hot/cold/windy); chemical dust, small spaces
Work in a team environment, but work in safety sensitive environment where being independent is needed
Utilize senses to a high degree excluding taste – must be alert
Perform work high degree of physical effort/exertion, including prolonged periods of standing, climbing, walking
Decision making process is made in conjunction with the loadout supervisor and other team members
What You'll Bring:
High School Diploma
2+ years of experience in an industrial setting
Ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, skid steer, rail car mover, and front-end loader
Experience with handling dangerous products is an asset
