Tasks
  • Manufacture and assemble different prefabricated fibreglass elements
  • Manufacture and assemble in the factory the ducts for hot air heating, air conditioning and ventilation
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
  • Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
  • Schedule work
  • Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers
  • Cut materials using power tools or by hand
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Fit and join sheet metal parts
