Heavy Duty Mechanic
Diversified Transportation is currently seeking a full-time Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Fort McMurray.
Reporting to the Shop Foreman, you will work in a fast-paced environment maintaining a large fleet of motorcoaches. Diversified offers an above-average work environment with an emphasis on safety and training.
Work Shift: Full-time, 7 and 7 shifts (12-hour shift, rotating between nights and days)
Wage: $58.63 per hour, plus $2.00 per hour night premium, and $2.00 per hour CVIP license premium

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintenance and repair of motor coaches
CVIP Inspections
Respond to breakdowns
Supervision of apprentices
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs
Excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge of computer technology trends in the service industry, i.e. diagnostic programs and service manuals
Ability to develop new solutions and techniques to solve problems related to new and/or different equipment
Keep maintenance reports and documentation
Ability to obtain clearance for the following tasks are required: driving record check (abstract), physical demands analysis, drug & alcohol test, criminal record check
Education Requirements:
Certified Heavy Equipment Technician (recognized in Canada)
Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) is considered an asset or ability to achieve Provincial CVIP
Journeyperson certification, other levels may be considered
Valid class 1, 2Q or 3Q driver’s license is considered an asset
