NAIT's Steamfitter-Pipefitter Apprenticeship program prepares students to lay-out, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel sed in heating colling, lubricating and other processes. Students will learn more about how to measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install all types of metal, plastic and fiberglass pipes, valves and fittings. Also, studying blueprints, drawings and specifications, which determines the type of pipe and tools to use, as well as guides the layout and sequence of tasks.
The program is currently recruiting a salaried instructor who is an energetic leader, committed to student success, and has outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, virtual, laboratory and industry setting
Participating in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
Respond to student issues
Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
Maintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly
Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT's Strategic Plan and NAIT's Academic Plan as identified by the institute
Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
Other duties as assigned

Bring passion, enthusiasm, and ideas that will positively contribute to the advancement and growth of the program and the culture of our collaborative and dynamic team
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Completion of Steamfitter-pipefitter Alberta Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent including Inter-Provincial Red Seal required
Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket
Completion of Welding Journeyperson certification considered an asset
Additional relevant post-secondary education and/or professional development training
Teaching experience preferred
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration:
Will commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Refer to salary range noted on posting for instructor salary grid.
Note:
starting salary for new instructor hires average mid range based on education and experience. (Classification - Instructor).

This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Associate (NASA) Collective Agreement.
The compensation range for this job posting is : $69,189.78 - $120,361.23
