Civil Engineering Technologist
to our
Materials and Construction Services
team based in
Calgary, AB
.
This is a temporary hourly contract position expected to continue through November or December, depending on weather conditions.

Your Role:
Working on transportation infrastructure, commercial and industrial projects in both a field and laboratory environment.
Performing field testing of soil, aggregates, and concrete including, plastic concrete testing and making samples for testing in the laboratory, and density testing using nuclear density gauges.
Assisting in providing quality control and quality assurance on a variety of laboratory and field-testing related projects.
Assisting in preparation of field-testing reports.
Other duties required to conduct our business and build on the job knowledge.
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Civil engineering technology diploma is preferred.
Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and must provide current drivers abstract when applying.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to properly document sampling and testing information in an accurate and timely fashion.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and listening skills.
Good time management skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to contribute to the Practice by being a team player.
Must be willing to travel and work in a field setting away from headquarters.
CSA approved Steel Toed Safety Boots required.
Be physically capable of performing the manual labour duties required.
