Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and preparation of client required site; preparing layout including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work.
- Operating hand tools, power tools as required to perform tasks including inspecting and ensuring proper safe use;
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment used on the job site; ensuring tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs.
- Reading blueprints and/or getting instructions from supervision.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
- Concrete experience is an asset.
- Maintain good workmanship and quality control
- Participating in weekly safety meetings and daily tool box talks;
- Ensuring proper Personal Protective Equipment is used for all tasks;
- Advising supervision of unsafe conditions or acts that may be a hazard or danger to self and other workers;
- Reporting all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in concrete labor or related field is an asset.
- Familiarity with concrete pours carpentry, blueprint reading, heavy lifting, heavy equipment operation
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints is required
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
- Valid Driver’s licence

Physical Requirements
- Physically able to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lifting items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
- Compliance to pre access site Drug and Alcohol testing and mask fit requirements
- Stand or walk for long periods of time; climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
- Able to work in the following conditions: at heights, in a confined space, in and around noise and dust, both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
- Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
- Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, prescription safety glasses if required. All other personal safety equipment will be provided.
