Summary
The Automotive Technician (3rd Year Apprentice) is required to perform skilled tasks in the Maintenance and Repair of light trucks and SUV’s as well as promote and participate in Goal Zero Safety Initiative. The incumbent will have the ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems, as well as have the ability to repair all necessary mechanical components.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
Maintain, service and inspection of vehicles
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot light trucks and SUV’s
Able to perform complete repair and overhaul functions in a timely manner
Test repaired vehicles for proper performance before sending them back on the road
Repair and/or replace defective parts

Positively participate in company safety program and adhere to all safety requirements
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required.
Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
Other mechanical repair work as required.
Key Skills and Requirements
Proven mechanical abilities in electrical, including schematics and engine diagnostics.
Outfitting vehicles with specific work tools
Experience with routine maintenance operations.
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbally
Able to work well under pressure.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to meet all safety requirements including a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and pre-employment drug, alcohol, and medical testing.
Experience/Education
• Registered or eligible to register as an Automotive Technician Apprentice (3rd Year).
• Previous mechanical experience, pre-apprenticeship training, or related trades experience is an asset but not required.
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license; Class 1/3 with Air Endorsement is an asset
Working Conditions
Overtime as required, including some weekends
Work both indoors and outdoors.
Be able to work various shifts (night/dayshift)
Must be able to meet all safety requirements including pre-employment
